Welcome to the Can: Where Texas Coffee Takes the Wheel

Welcome to the Can: Where Texas Coffee Takes the Wheel

Posted by Jacob Flores | May 2025

Howdy, y’all—welcome to the very first blog post from TX Coffee Can!

If you’re here, you’re probably someone who appreciates a damn good cup of coffee. Same here. But not just any coffee—we’re talking Texas coffee. Bold. Honest. Crafted with pride and a whole lotta heart.

My name’s Jacob Flores. I’m a classically trained chef, barista, and born-and-raised Texan. After spending over a decade helping build and sharpen some of the state’s best food and beverage brands, I decided it was time to hit the road and do something different—something that brings the best of Texas coffee to the folks who might never get the chance to taste it otherwise.

That’s how TX Coffee Can was born.

We’re not your average coffee company. We don’t roast our own beans. What we do is spotlight the hardworking roasters and coffee makers across Texas—the ones turning out some of the richest, most flavorful brews you’ll ever sip. Our goal is simple: put their coffee in your cup, and tell the stories behind every roast.

You’ll find our little mobile trailer—our “Can”—popping up at markets, events, and backroads all across Texas. Each cup we serve features beans from a rotating lineup of Texas roasters we admire and respect. No blends from big-box brands. No shortcuts. Just real-deal, locally-roasted coffee, served with Southern charm and a side of front porch hospitality.

Through this blog, I’ll be sharing:

  • Behind-the-scenes stories from Texas roasters we feature

  • Brewing tips and tricks from a chef and barista’s perspective

  • Product drops, limited edition merch, and flavored favorites

  • Travel tales and community events as we roll through the Lone Star State

So pour yourself a cup, kick back, and stay tuned. We’ve got a lot to share—and a lot more brewing.

Thanks for being part of this journey. And remember: you don’t have to be from Texas to drink like you are.

See you on the road,
– Jacob
